'Pink Pig' pastel painting
I couldn't resist painting this "in your face" pig! I started with a watercolor underpainting and used a complementary color palette.

'Marie Antoinette's Cottage' and 'Monet's House" pastel paintings
I have been fortunate to visit France and experience the old world ambiance there. On the grand estate of Versaille lies this quaint cottage of Marie Antoinette. I love the calla lily garden!
The 2 paintings below are of Monet's home in Giverny. Of course Monet would have a pink house with green shutters and doors!

'Possibilities' pastel painting
This French window has a calming effect on me when I look at it. The title, Possibilities, calls on the imagination to wonder what is on the other side.
'Red Geraniums' pastel painting
Bright red geraniums always remind me of summer! I saw these at a hostel in Interlaken, Switzerland, called The Funny Farm. Looking at this photograph reminds me of beautiful Switzerland.

'Silshole Marina' pastel painting 8x10
This painting was done from a photograph by Seattle photographer Anders Carlson. I painted it in a workshop given by Karen Margulis on painting nocturnes in Pastel. It was a lot of fun, and I plan to paint more night scenes.
The paintings below are of beautiful Discovery Park located on the Puget Sound. I visited there in the summer when the colors of the grass were golden, rust, and copper, quite a change from the greens of the Georgia landscape.

'Contentment' pastel painting of a couple
Near Boothbay Harbor, Maine, I noticed this contented couple gazing at the water. I knew instantly that they would become the subject for a painting. My challenge was to create a serene mood in the painting. The purchaser of 'Contentment' said that the man looks just like her husband. That makes me really happy to know that the painting has a special meaning to her.
